The Power of Giving

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that was created in 2012 to unleash the power of radical generosity around the world, and this year it is on December 3, 2024. On this day, people around the world come together to give back and support the causes that matter most to them.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to support Camp Helen Keller, a summer camp on Long Island for children who are blind or have low vision. At Camp Helen Keller, children discover a world of wonder where new experiences build confidence and lasting friendships flourish. Through specially adapted activities in sports, technology, arts, music, and more campers explore and grow together in a supportive community with a true sense of belonging.

Make a Difference Today

Your Giving Tuesday donation helps Helen Keller Services for the Blind continue these summer experiences for children who are blind or have low vision. Together, we can ensure Camp Helen Keller remains a place where wonder, friendship, and possibility flourish.

[Music] Slow uplifting acoustic music plays.

This video shows a boy and girl camper from Camp Helen Keller on a field trip to Adventure Park. Adventure Park is set in the woods and offers zip lining, rope courses and other climbing activities. The video begins with a clip of the boy and girl riding across a practice zip line with the help of an instructor. Then, the boy walks through the park and the girl climbs upstairs to the top of a platform. Next, the girl is standing at the edge of a section of the elevated course, searching for where to place her foot. She hesitates, but then raises her leg and steps across with confidence. The boy slowly crosses a similar elevated bridge. The video concludes with a short clip of the boy sitting at a table and smiling, and then fades to the Helen Keller Services logo and a QR code over a white background with the statement, “Creating memories one step at a time, Join Camp Helen Keller’s Journey.”
