Spring is here and it is time to get out your running gear to get set for the annual Sands Point Preserve Helen’s Run/Walk 2018 on Sunday, April 22. Registration is now open for the annual 5K/3.1 mile event which beckons racers from all over Long Island and New York. The event benefits Helen Keller National Center for DeafBlind Youths & Adults (HKNC) and its mission to support those living with combined vision and hearing loss.

DeafBlind student Elizabeth Aguilera is featured in a new video stating, “This event is for everyone. DeafBlind, hearing, sighted—come down and join the fun. Jump on board and walk or run. Whatever floats your boat. It’s a great opportunity to meet the community. All the money raised goes straight to supporting the training and advocacy needs of DeafBlind people at HKNC.”

You can support Aguilera’s team, form your own, or participate as an individual. Either way, you’re sure to have a great time for a great cause.
