A gifted artist, Lupita, who was born Deaf, began losing her vision due to Usher syndrome. Faced with the challenges of her vision loss, she came to HKNC to improve her skills in independent living, communication, adaptive technology and overall employment readiness.

Lupita continued working tirelessly towards her goal and her hard work paid off. She accepted a graphic designer job at Minute Man Press. While working, she plans to continue her education by taking college courses in graphic design. It is yet another testament to the transformative impact of HKNC’s training programs, which equip DeafBlind individuals with the tools not just to overcome, but to truly thrive.
