Helen Keller Services, in partnership with The Center for AAC & Autism, is pleased to host a comprehensive workshop on Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) at our Children’s Learning Center in Downtown Brooklyn. This specialized training is designed for speech-language pathologists, special education professionals, parents, and caregivers working with individuals who have complex communication needs.
LAMP is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that has shown remarkable success in helping non-speaking individuals and those with limited verbal abilities develop independent communication skills. By addressing sensory needs, device features, and teaching methods, LAMP improves communication, enhances social engagement, and reduces challenging behaviors. During this full-day workshop, participants will gain practical knowledge and strategies for implementing LAMP methodology, with a particular focus on supporting individuals who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
Whether you’re new to LAMP or looking to enhance your current practice, this workshop offers valuable insights into making communication more accessible and meaningful for those who need it most.
