At Helen Keller Services for the Blind (HKSB), you’ll find the support and training that can help you to turn your aspirations into achievements.
The HKSB team will create a customized service plan tailored to your specific needs, goals and interests. You’ll work one-on-one with experts in the rehabilitation field, and everything you learn will have practical, real world applications. During your time with HKSB, you’ll develop invaluable skills and strategies to help you in every area of your daily life—from traveling safely to managing your home to succeeding in the workplace.
Train on site at our Brooklyn, Hempstead, Ronkonkoma or Sands Point locations, or take advantage of our community-based field services, which bring HKSB resources to your home or workplace.
You’ll receive assessment, training and support in six core areas to provide you with the skills and resources necessary to pursue your goals and maintain an independent lifestyle.
Developed to meet the needs of specific groups of clients, these programs offer practical training, expand awareness, build skills and create opportunities for meaningful interactions with peers.
