This course was developed for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselors and professionals who work with DeafBlind individuals. Throughout this training, you’ll hear directly from DeafBlind people sharing their personal experiences, challenges, and growth, offering insight that goes far beyond textbooks. You’ll also gain practical strategies from professionals who support this population in real-world settings.

This course explores how identity, grief, and communication barriers intersect with employment readiness. It highlights the emotional resilience required to navigate combined vision and hearing loss and the vital role you play in supporting that journey.

This course is presented Eleanor Coley-Brody, a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience working directly with the DeafBlind community. It was developed in collaboration with DeafBlind professionals and individuals who generously shared their stories, perspectives, and insights.
