Camp Helen Keller transforms barriers into opportunities, providing children who are blind or have low vision with a summer experience that builds confidence, independence, and lifelong skills. For over 25 years, our specialized summer program has created pathways to independence through adaptive activities, peer connections, and expert support. From swimming and arts to our groundbreaking Epic Excursions program, we’ve designed every aspect of camp to nurture growth while creating unforgettable summer memories.

At Camp Helen Keller, we believe in a place where every child can explore, grow, and discover a world without limits.
For more than 30 years, Camp Helen Keller has been part of Long Island summers. Hosted on the campus of LIU Post in Nassau County, through adapted activities and specialized instruction, children who are blind or have low vision find a welcoming and accessible space to flourish.
They participate in sports, arts and crafts, dance, and other traditional summer camp activities. Here, barriers transform into opportunities. They discover new ways to express themselves and connect with others who share their journey.
