HKS Headquarters Construction Update – Week 9

On-Screen: Text on a white background that reads “New Building Update, Week 9.  In this special update, we spoke with Larry Greengold, Project Manager at Tri-Star Construction to get his take on how the project is going.”  The scene then changes to Larry Greengold standing in front of a large white poster.

Larry: Hello, I’m Larry Greengold, the project executive on the Helen Keller buildout. We're in week 7 of the project. Right now, we have framing and drywall continuing on the job, ductwork continuing, electrical roughing continuing, plumbing continuing, sprinkler pipe coming in the end of this week, and we’ll be starting to sheetrock the job very soon, to start closing the place in, and start moving towards finishes.

On-Screen: The scene cuts to several left-to-right panning shots: One showing large vertical metal bars across a large space, one showing white pipes along the ceiling, one showing red and blue wiring along the ceiling, and one showing gray and orange pipes along the ceiling. The scene then cuts back to Larry.

Larry: We have a couple of hiccups, but we’re moving along pretty good, and hope to start picking up the pace on some other items shortly.

On-Screen: The scene cuts to black text on a white background. The text reads: “We also spoke with Joe Bruno, C.E.O. of Helen Keller Services, to hear what he has to say about how the project is going.”

Joe: So we’re moving along at a great pace. I think we’ve kind of now gone from a really quick start, to now a steady amount of work that continues to be done. There are no breakthroughs this week, it’s just a matter of doing more and more of the same— We are leveling off the ceiling a bit in certain areas, where we’re going to drop ceilings for example in offices, and we’re going to leave high ceilings in the open areas, but overall, this is a great project, it’s going along well. I’m happy you guys can enjoy it, I hope you’re watching all these videos, and you’ll see that this is going to be a great site for Helen Keller Services, for the Children’s Learning Center, we even have people here today from the Department of Health who are looking at the site. So there’s lots of things to be done, and we’ll give you updates in the future. Thanks a lot!
