SENIOR INSTRUCTOR – INDEPENDENT LIVING. FT 35 hours per week. Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Teaching, or Special Education required preferably with experience in teaching blind or deaf blind individuals. Two years experiencein teaching visually impaired, Strongly prefer knowledge of Braille, sign language and/or the one hand manual alphabet. Knowledge of MS Office. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. The Senior Instructor evaluates and provides training in, skills of independent living with students to foster a more independent and productive life style in the community. Mentors Independent Living instructors and aides as necessary. Plans lessons and provides skills training in the above areas based upon the findings of the evaluation using specific methods and adaptations required to teach deaf-blind persons. Category IA.
