Accounts Payable Clerk

We currently have an exciting career opportunity available to join the HKS team as an Accounts Payable Administrator in our easily accessible (multiple subway lines nearby) new HKS Headquarters at 180 Livingston Street, Brooklyn, NY.

The Accounts Payable Administrator is responsible for the execution of HKSB’s mission, goals and objectives through the timely and accurate use of Agency assets in making certain decisions regarding the analysis of invoices and purchase orders for goods and services purchased by the agency and as backup with payroll related services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Responsible for all activities in the accounts payable function including but not limited to;

  • Vouchering and posting vendor invoices on a timely basis
  • Process weekly check runs and mail out payments
  • Set up new vendors as approved by staff
  • Resolve vendor disputes and other issues relating to Accounts Payable
  • Provide support to Director of Accounting and /or the CFO as needed
  • File payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monthly closing and month-end reports
  • Cross-train with payroll to serve as backup when necessary
  • Provide support to management
  • Supporting the annual financial statement audit process

Qualifications

  • Ability to allocate shared expenses among multiple cost centers
  • Accurate attention to detail
  • Minimum 5 years Accounts Payable experience required
  • Understanding of intercompany transactions
  • Associates Degree strongly preferred
  • Experience with computerized accounting software a must
  • 2 years ADP Payroll experience, ADP Time & Attendance experience a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent communicator – must be able to work as a team member
  • Professional demeanor
