33rd Anniversary Sound & Light Gala
September 18, 2009, New York — With 200 people in attendance, HKSB held its 33rd Anniversary Sound & Light Gala on September 17th at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, to honor two men for their significant and longtime commitment to the community—retiring HKSB President Fred W. McPhilliamy and former Met outfielder Mookie Wilson.
Several dignitaries were on hand to honor Mr. McPhilliamy and Mr. Wilson, including Commissioner Joseph Bruno of the Office of Emergency Management; Claudio Del Vecchio, president and chief executive officer of Brooks Brothers, Giuseppe Morisi of UniCredit Group, and Christopher Maher, executive vice president of The Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh.
The honorees were presented with a special proclamation from the office of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. Tobias Russo, representing the office of Governor David A. Paterson, made a special presentation honoring Mr. McPhilliamy and Mr. Wilson for their support.
The event was moderated by Mistress of Ceremonies Michelle Charlesworth, co-anchor of WABC-TV, Channel 7, Eyewitness News.
