Domenica Simonetti (Mimi) and Sally DiMicelli

Two Longtime Employees—and Best Friends—Retire from HKSB

January 31, 2011, New York —Two wonderful ladies, long-time employees, and best friends, retired on Friday, January 28th. Domenica Simonetti or Mimi as she is called, retired after 66 (sixty-six) years of service. Mimi began working with HKSB when we were still The Industrial Home for the Blind and met Helen Keller on several occasions; she was even part of a group of emissaries from our agency who in 1967 met with the Pope. Sally DiMiceli retired after 49 (forty-nine) years of service. Sally, who was born visually impaired, was one of the first people years ago to be taught how to use adaptive technology in the workplace.

Both Mimi and Sally have left an indelible mark over the years and HKSB will miss not only their professionalism but their friendship as well. We wish them much success and happiness in their future endeavors.
