Celebrating the HKSB Children’s Learning Center Graduating Class
June 25, 2013, New York —On Friday, June 21st, parents, siblings, teachers and loved ones united to celebrate the achievement of one of the HKSB Children’s Learning Center’s largest graduating classes—16 students in all.
Thomas J. Edwards, President & CEO of HKSB opened the day’s festivities by welcoming everyone to the graduation, congratulating not only the students but parents and caregivers. “By working hand in hand with our agency, your children will be better prepared to reach their potential,” he said.
The procession of graduates followed, with Father Joel Warden of the Oratory Church of St. Boniface giving the invocation.
Musical and dance performances were led by Michael Gentile of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and the Mark Morris Dance Group.
In appreciation for her dedication and commitment to the Children’s Learning Center and for being a model parent, Maria Lissy Fabian was named the Parent of the Year.
Guest speakers imparting well wishes and words of wisdom to the graduates included Stephen Levin, NYC Council Member; Tamar Smith, Community Liaison from the Office of NYS Assemblywoman Joan Millman; and Laurie Cumbo, representing NYS Assemblyman Walter Mosley.
