Helen Keller Deaf-Blind Awareness Week
June 23-29, 2013
Promotional Materials
As a result of a Presidential Proclamation made by Ronald Reagan in 1984, the last week of June has been designated as Helen Keller Deaf Blind Awareness Week. Every year, the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths and Adults (HKNC) celebrates this anniversary with a national campaign. This year’s theme is: “We don’t need to see or hear in order to touch the world around us.”
Promotional materials to help you celebrate this week include:
• 2013 Poster—download the 2013 poster (created by Grey Healthcare Group) or contact HKNC for a hard copy of the poster
• The text of the original 1984 Proclamation (No. 5214) from the President
Alternate formats to come (e.g., Braille, Large Print).
